Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my website! Allow me to introduce myself...

My name is Michelle Cox-Vergara and I am the owner of Michelle Cox Photography. I recently got married (April 30, 2016) which is why I have a new hyphen in my name – believe me I am still getting used to having a new last name but I am loving married life! My husband's name is Rene' and he is my assistant/bag carrier (whenever I need him). He doesn't photograph yet but I am hoping to teach him someday!

I love everything about owning my own wedding photography business and truly enjoying working with every single client that I have. Weddings are big days and can sometimes be stressful but my hope and goal is help you every step of the way, relieving stress and worry wherever I can. I work from two offices, one in my home and one outside of my home. I currently reside with my husband at our condo in Northwest Indiana (Munster, to be exact) but I also have a remote office in Chicago at Soho House. Since I serve both the city and the suburbs I have a great way of being near all of my clients.

Not only am I a photographer but I am an educator. I just started educating new wedding photographers with workshops and one-on-one mentoring. I have a true passion for teaching and I am so excited that I can take that desire and turn it a reality in my business. I believe in sharing our truth and our experiences with others and I am excited to have this new outlet to do just that.

I love traveling (for business or for pleasure) and I have a “to do” list where I hope to photograph a wedding in every state. I have several checked off my list already but feel free to invite me to your out of town weddings, wherever they are! I love having a new reason to pack my bags and go somewhere new. On the top of my list is Hawaii, California and Colorado!

I love food… everything about it. I enjoy trying new foods and new restaurants, I watch the Food Network every single night and most of all, I just love eating! Life is about enjoying the small things so yes, I will a second helping please! AND dessert!

On days when I am not working you can find me relaxing at home with my husband at our condo, reading some kind of non-fiction book with a cup of coffee next to me or out socializing with a friend over lunch. In recent years I have gotten more “low key” with my downtime but these days I enjoy spending my free time with my closest friends or loved ones and try to cherish those kind of moments over any other.

Feel free to reach out to my about my services. Planning a wedding or event can be stressful and sometimes hard so I would love to bring some clarity to your photography wants and needs. I would also love to get to know you a little better to see if we would be a good fit together. Please reach out soon to make sure that your day is available!

Have a beautiful day!

<3, Michelle
