Being a sole owner of a company is pretty fun work but around the holidays, it gets a little lonely. No secret Santa gift exchanges, no parties, no cookie exchanges or 40+ hours of holiday tunes blasting in your ears over the business' satellite radio. SO in honor or being my own boss and being ALL alone, my "business consultant" (a.k.a. my fiance) and I decided that the executive officers of Michelle Cox Photography would go out to celebrate the holiday season at a local Italian restaurant. 
While at dinner, my fiance gave me a gift and... let me tell you it was quite a gift. He wrote me a note detailing the nature of the gift and as I glanced over the words on the note, I got a tears in my eyes. I have never received a gift that was quite so thoughtful or quite this perfect for me, at this stage of my life. The gift is a beautiful wooden chest FULL of motivational quotes from other women in history that were entrepreneurs, hard working, free thinkers and most of all "do-ers". In the letter he told me that I was only allowed to read a quote when I needed a little pick-me-up. On the days that I felt MOST alone, I needed to open the box to remember that I wasn't alone and that other women had been there before and made it. I would too. 
He hand picked all of the quotes inside, he tied each one up and placed it in the box, and he told me that he hopes that I will never read them all - that I will never have THAT many bad days.
I needed to share this beautiful gift with you all because it was the most wonderful thoughtful thing that I received in a very long time. Come on though, isn't it the neatest gift ever? :) I have a keeper.
