I love all the couples I work with, but every once in a while I meet a pair that I really have a connection with. It can be so much fun sharing a couple’s special day, but even more so when they feel like friends. That’s how I feel about Dejan and Nicole—an awesome pair and an absolute favorite of mine! I had so much fun working with this couple—from our planning meetings to the awesome engagement session in downtown Chicago.

Nicole and Dejan's Northwest Indiana wedding was at a fabulous venue: The Allure in LaPorte. I loved their reception especially because they are such fun people and once they got together with their friends and family, it was awesome seeing everyone have such a great time. Some of my favorite parts of their wedding were the toasts (I always love to hear what friends and family have to say!) and their candy bar. Yum! 

Nicole's makeup was done by the super fabulous Krissy V. Her work is unmatched and her personality is exactly what any bride needs on their wedding day <3 

Questions for the Bride and Groom

I always want to connect with my clients to learn a little more about the planning that went into their special day and understand their vision for everything. I asked Nicole and Dejan a few things about their wedding and here were some of Nicole’s answers:

How long did you plan your wedding?

About a year and a half. I started planning right away; we got engaged December 19, 2012 and were married May 3, 2014!

Did you have a wedding planner or did you do the planning yourself? 

I did the planning myself! I had a huge binder with all of my ideas, information, vendors, etc. to help me stay organized and keep track of the many details.

Was it exciting for you to see you plans come to fruition?

YES! It was amazing to see all of the details come to life and see all of the hard work on display for everyone to view and enjoy!

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

• Putting my dress on after getting glammed up! 

• Walking down the aisle with my parents. I was sooo excited to see Dejan and start the ceremony.

• Our first dance. Dejan and I were able to just focus on each other and it seemed as though no one else was even in the room!

• Listening to the speeches from Marcie (my Maid of Honor) and from Dejan…they both made me cry happy tears!
