As a creative, there have been times in my life when I have felt "different". I know that I see the word through eyes that do not follow the same rules as yours - I see angles, colors, patterns, textures, light, all in ways that I cannot explain to another listener. The moment that I picked up a camera and realized that I could explain my heart through images, it has been my life's goal to communicate my unique vision accurately - From my eye, to my mind, to my camera, to you. 

Being different does not matter to me anymore but every once in a while I get refreshed to feel the same as someone else. A few years ago I read a book written by the amazing natural light photographer, Elizabeth Messina. This book entitled 'The Luminous Portrait' encouraged my spirit to further greatness and pushed me to new creative levels. The words that she used to express her passion for photography told me that we were on the same page, seeing the world the same way and using our cameras to tell similar stories. I would like to share a portion of her words and hopefully I can find another kindred spirit in you. 

"Our cameras are extensions of our eyes, and the light we choose is the heart of our images. My love affair with photography is passionate and on going, and while I still have hard days, with challenging shoots and images that don't work, I also have moments of great joy and revelation. My devotion to photography will continue as long as I have eyes to see the beautiful qualities of life and light around me. I hope you find some inspiration throughout the pages of this book. May you be blessed in your pursuit of photography, may you always follow your dreams, wherever they may lead, and may your images be as luminous as your heart."
