"Sticks and stones my break my bones but words will never hurt me." My response - Yeah right! 

Sometimes people make statements to us or about us and we hang on to the words. Whether intentional or accidental, the majority of us take words to heart. I have struggled in the past with listening to the negatives words and taking those to heart much more seriously then the positive words, the good words, the edifying words. 

That being said, I am trying to make a more conscience effort to reject words that do not help or will not edify me. This does not mean that I am rejecting all logical words of advice or constructive criticism. It merely means that I am changing my though process on how I listen and what I listen to. We are a world full of talkers that want to be heard and believe me, I do hear you! I just need to choose better on what I hear vs what I listen to. I feel like I have been back-peddling a little in both life and my business because I am focusing so closely

 on what is wrong that I forget to focus in on the things that are right, the things that I am doing well and the success that I am having. I am making a daily choice to focus on the positive, not the negative, and I am already seeing the fruits of that decision. 
 

I would love to share a comment that a bride of mine made to me this week through a message. Not only did I hear her but I am choosing to listen and take heart. 

"Michelle, I can't stop looking at the pictures! They are incredibly beautiful... you were able to capture everything. (The groom) and my mom and I are all so happy with how they all turned out. I can't thank you enough for doing such a fabulous job and being there to keep an eye on the schedule and be flexible with things. LOVED working with you through the entire process! :) Thank you so much!"

This is my definition of success and this is what I will listen to! <3 Michelle
