With all this gorgeous fall weather, I am really reminiscing about my awesome trip to Boston last year! I’m a Chicago wedding photographer, but one of my favorite parts of the job is when a couple asks me to travel someplace different to photograph their special day. Pat and Julia’s Boston wedding was such a lovely experience—the couple was so kind and welcoming, and they made me feel right at home in a new city. The group had known each other for years and everyone was so friendly. It’s so much fun to photograph a wedding and feel like I want to be friends with everyone there! I loved being a Boston wedding photographer for the weekend!

I first met Pat and Julia when I photographed their surprise engagement in Chicago in October 2012. After seeing how much this couple truly loved each other, I was ecstatic when they invited me to participate in the next part: the actual wedding!

Getting Ready at Seabreeze Inn Bed and Breakfast in Plymouth, MA

Pat and Julia were married in Plymouth, MA, about an hour outside of Boston, on November 9, 2013. The party got ready at the Seabreeze Inn Bed and Breakfast, a place so full of charm and history. I loved all of the nautical-inspired décor, which was perfect for the location. You could see the ocean from the window!

One of my favorite moments from the day—always a moment that gets me—is when the couple opened love letters they wrote to each other to be read before the ceremony. Julia was crying because the letter was so beautiful, and laughing because Pat forgot to sign it!  

Julia was so much fun to work with while they were all getting ready. I could tell she was both excited and nervous the whole time, which made for some really great photos. I also love when the “getting ready” photos are fun…Julia bought her girls, and her mom too, matching robes from Etsy. How cute! 

The Wedding Ceremony at St. Peters Catholic Church in Plymouth, MA

The wedding ceremony took place just a few blocks away from the B&B at the absolutely breathtaking St. Peters Church in Plymouth, a Catholic church that has been a part of Plymouth history since 1873! The wedding party rode in a trolley to get to the church. 

One of my favorite parts about the entire wedding day had to be the post-ceremony photos at the jetty. Being from Chicago, I loved being able to see some of the beautiful things that are so unique to the coast, and being able to take advantage of some awesome photo ops!

The Wedding Reception at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, MA

Pat and Julia’s wedding reception was at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, MA. We enjoyed taking a few group shots out on the golf course, even though it was a really cold day. The funny thing about looking back at a beautiful wedding day, it’s easy to forget things like being cold for a few minutes when the whole event was so amazing. I love those sharp evergreens in the background. 

After my experience traveling to Boston for this beautiful wedding, I love traveling for weddings and other events. If anyone feels like inviting this Chicago wedding photographer to some dream location around the globe, don’t hesitate to ask! The short answer is…I’d love to :)
