Over the course of the last several years, I have realized that I rarely blog about myself and my personal life. That being said, we need to change that! I am thinking about starting a Personal Blog Day every Wednesday for my weekly blog posts.. so here is hopefully the first of many. Starting off this new endeavor, I want to tell you more about me. Here are 5 random facts about Michelle!

1. Prior and simultaneously to owning my own photography business I worked in a bank. Over the course of 7+ years, I moved up from a teller to a personal banker and lastly to an Assistant Branch Manager. It took me a few years to finally pull the trigger and go "full time" in photography (mostly because of the fear of failure) but during that time in banking, I learned so much about managing people, managing finances, having a keen attention to detail and most of all, the value of offering great customer service. That time in management and banking truly made my business today better than it could have been so I am THANKFUL that I had that experience and career path to lead me where I am today.
2. I love COFFEE!!! Now this is not just a random complicated relationship... this is a SERIOUS love affair of two consenting individuals...or things... or whatever we are together. ;) 
3. I have an undying obsession with the classic television show I Love Lucy! I don't claim to know every single detail about the show however I can probably tell you more about Lucy than any average Joe or Jane... AND if I randomly flip to any I Love Lucy episode, I can just about guarantee that within a literal second, I can tell you everything about the episode, all guest stars and which season it aired. Lucy is truly a woman after my own heart and I would probably be a lot less crazy if it wasn't for her. 
4. I love fashion. Ever since I was a little girl I always had a knack for dressing up in fun, cool ways, and most specifically, always did my own thing. As I have gotten older, I have tamed my taste down a little but I still keep a wild shoe collection full of more than 100 shoes I frequently wear and a vintage jewelry collection that spices up many of my outfits. I really am just fashionably quirky and love colors, patterns, retro-inspired dresses and great handbags. Some of my favorite items are purchased from either Mod Cloth or Anthropologie...my two favorite stores! 
5. I love traveling and adventure! In 2011, I traveled to Paris with a friend of mine and it was then that I knew that I needed to see much more of this great world. I get immediate kicks from long weekend trips to local beach towns on the Lake Michigan boarder but nothing gives me a thrill more than hopping on a plane and arriving at somewhere completely new and unexplored. I have wide eyes that want to take in the whole world and I am thrilled that my photography career can take me so many wonderful places... and has already!
